Our culture has accepted two huge lies. The first is that if you disagree with someone’s lifestyle, you must fear them or hate them. The second is that to love someone means you agree with everything they believe or do. Both are nonsense. You don’t have to compromise convictions to be compassionate.

hi just so you know mark twain’s quote (“20 years from now you will be disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the one’s you did. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover.”) is pretty much not even remotely suggesting you quit your part time job and proceed to fulfill your childish ambitions to party everyday of your life, fuck as many biddies as possible and do every drug on the planet until you feel completely numb.
like i don’t know i think it’s about having dreams and pursuing them and traveling the world and learning things and generally just enriching your life and sailing probably but maybe im wrong idk.
it’s just a little silly that you’re using that quote as your facebook status like is that really how you’re feeling and you seem to not do much with your life and whatever
ok glad that’s out of the way.

“Love is a combination of estrogen, testosterone, adrenaline and, if the relationship lasts long enough, serotonin. If you’re stuck in the hormones/dopamine phase, you’re gonna feel like you need to be with the person more if there’s a level of abuse. But then you get stuck there, when serotonin is where you really want to be.”
